Soon
there will be multiple galleries to choose from, fractal
art and my photography. Fractal art is computer
generated art, based on mathematics, that I make on my PC
at home. I used Windows XP for the majority of my
work, but now, on my new PC, I use Vista. I recently
converted my laptop to Xubuntu Linux and I'm
hoping to use my fractal program Apophysis using
Wine emulation. I
use The Gimp for some
finishing touches such as signatures and frames,
and BDSizer for resizing
the pictures.
For those who are interested in fractals, and more
particularly those made with the program Apophysis, I can
recommend this group on
Deviantart.com,
a site where I am also active myself. They have a lot of
resources on Apophysis including tutorials for beginners,
and they also organise contests.
My photography will be categorized into multiple categories
architecture, conceptual, macro, nature, human life &
miscellaneous pictures. I use a
Sony Alpha for all my
photos. I use my Tamron AF SP 90/2,8 DI Macro 1:1
for my macro
photography, but I also use it occasionally for
portraits or even other kinds of pictures if I don't
have my Sony lens nearby. The Sony 18-200mm F 3.5-6.3 DT
is my multi
purpose lens, which I use for just about anything except
macro photos. I am really looking forward to
buying a Kenko PRO-300 MC 2.0x
DG, for taking
macro pictures with up to twice the magnification. As
this would entail a loss of two f-stops of light, I'm
considering buying a ring flash. I again use
The Gimp and
BDSizer to polish and
finish off the pictures to my satisfaction.
There are different resolutions available to you, 560
is designed for smaller computer screens or slow internet
connections. 1024 is designed for those that have
larger screens or fast internet connections. I hope
you enjoy the fruits of my labor of love...
